Placement Guidelines for Prospective Students of Indonesian

A step-by-step guide to enrol in Indonesian language courses for Semester 2, 2008

Step 1: Read the information below and assess which course is most appropriate for your level of Indonesian language knowledge.

Step 2: If you wish to enrol to any of the Indonesian language course without the necessary prerequisites, you must complete the Online Application Form below so that the School can enrol you in the course you nominate.

Step 3: Once you have submitted the Online Application Form you will receive a reference number. Please keep this reference number safe.

Step 4: Please allow 5 working days for us to process your application. Check your enrolment details in myUNSW, and if your enrolment has not been updated after 5 working days, please email the School Office at languages@unsw.edu.au quoting your reference number and the course in which you wish to enrol.

Note: You will be contacted by email if a decision cannot be made on the basis of the information in the application form. In this case you may be required to provide further information or attend an interview with a discipline advisor.

Placement Guidelines

Students will be enrolled into courses in order of receipt of application. As some classes fill up very quickly, it is in a student’s best interests to submit the Online Application Form as soon as possible.

IMPORTANT: Students from other Faculties who wish to undertake language courses to fulfil elective or general education requirements should ensure that these courses count towards the requirements of their degree programs with the relevant Program Authority.

If you feel that your starting course is not appropriate for your language level once the semester has started, please contact the course convenor to discuss the feasibility of changing to an upper/lower course. Any changes to enrolment must be approved by the Discipline Advisor and finalised by Friday, 1 August 2008.
